Peel and slice the apples into a square pan. Sprinkle with the sugar and water. |

Beat the butter and sugar until creamy and sugar is dissolved. Add the eggs one by one mixing well after each addition. Blend in the flour. Pour the batter over the apples. |

Bake for 30 minutes at 375°F. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake for another 20 to 30 minutes. |
